Waterproofing

Waterproofing is a specialised process which requires a QBCC (Queensland Building & Construction Commission) Licence, and OPAT is an Approved Applicator, Licence No.1031545. Waterproofing involves identifying the cause of water ingress, and the professional selection and application of products specific to each case is critical to ensuring a long term solution. Factors contributing to defective waterproofing include stress cracks, failed expansion joints, poorly designed flashing or detailing in the original construction, and incorrectly or poorly applied membranes. Without adequate external waterproofing, water can accumulate, penetrate and damaging the structure or internal finishes of a building. OPAT stays abreast of all new waterproofing technologies to ensure a quality outcome for their Clients.
